KIP & CAF Projects

KIP & CAF Projects at Athabasca University

This site is dedicated to the more than 40 Knowledge Infrastructure Program (KIP) and Community Adjustment Fund (CAF) projects at Athabasca University that were launched in 2009 and 2010.

These projects aim to:

  • improve AU’s ICT (information and communication technologies) and other capital infrastructure as well as
  • enhance research resources, online learning management, and content management in AU's Open Knowledge Environment (OKE).

The KIP and CAF projects have been made possible by various combinations of funding from the provincial and federal governments, the university, and private donations. More than 120 positions have been created, many in parts of rural Alberta.

As of March 31, 2011, all CAF projects and several KIP projects were successfully completed. Some KIP projects are continuing past March in alignment with the Government of Canada's decision to move the completion deadline for KIP projects to October 31, 2011.

Please explore this site to find KIP and CAF news, in-depth features, and other information on projects. And tell us what you think by leaving comments in the appropriate places on the site.
