KIP & CAF Projects

Web Coordination

Background: Web Coordination consists of the following three projects:

  • Academic Centre Web Content Conversion
  • Calendar Web Content Conversion
  • Syllabi Web Content Conversion

Academic Centre Web Content Conversion

Purpose: Revamp and refresh the content for up to nine academic centre websites, and convert the websites to the new AU web template. Conversion to the new template improves AU's visual cohesiveness on the web and enhances the usability of the websites.

Status: This project was successfully completed on March 31, 2011. The web content for nine academic centres was revamped, relaunched, and passed back to the centres for administration in AU's new web template.

This work involved over 2,700 webpages and about 40 websites counting the sites within the sites.

Calendar Web Content Conversion

Purpose: Convert AU's undergraduate and graduate calendars to XML and the new AU web template. Conversion to the new template improves AU's visual cohesiveness on the web and enhances the usability of the calendars for both students and staff. Conversion to XML improves processes related to the management and revision of calendar content.

Status: This project was successfully completed on March 31, 2011. The undergraduate and graduate calendars—about 500 webpages in total—were converted to AU's new web template and relaunched.

Syllabi Web Content Conversion

Purpose: Convert AU's course syllabi to XML and the new AU web template. Conversion to the new template improves AU's visual cohesiveness on the web and enhances the usability of the syllabi for both students and staff. Conversion to XML improves processes related to the management and revision of course syllabi.

Status: This project was successfully completed on March 31, 2011. About 700 syllabi were converted to AU's new web template and relaunched.
